Après Systems was founded in 1996 to create a system capable of scanning, classifying, storing, accessing, and sharing documents from workstations. With over 15 years of automation systems experience, Après Systems realized that, even though existing systems provided many of the functions needed to operate an office, the solution was not complete.

The requirement was to develop a document management system that integrates with existing automation systems. In 1998 Après' in-house programming staff created its own integrated solution, etfile. Après Systems formed partnerships with leading automation vendors to integrate etfile with legacy systems. This approach enabled us to market and sell etfile to multiple industries all over the world.
